I walked into work and found out one of my patients passed away in the morning. I have a history with this patient. I have known her for the 4 years that I have been working at this facility. She was one of the first patients I ever took care of when I started as a CNA.
I won't forget her quirks; constantly asking for medications and constantly getting up from her wheelchair to go use the bathroom. I would constantly have to run down the hallway whenever I heard a chair/bed alarm because she was a high fall risk.
It is going to be strange not caring for her anymore.
