Homophobia coming from patients

I work evening shift and usually take my lunch after 6:30 pm. I let my CNA know that I was gonna get something to eat and would be back. A patient on my unit is allowed to request alcohol that we have locked up in the nurses station and they usually requests it at this time, which I forgot.

When I came back, my CNA informed me that while I was gone the resident said "When he comes back, tell his gay ass to give me my alcohol!"

I busted out laughing! 

I didn't take it personally. This patient is older and has a very old fashioned way of thinking when it comes to sexuality.
